Lazy Sunday with Nuggie

Sometimes I seriously think about how cool it would be to be someone's pampered kitty!  Imagine spending your days just doing nothing but sleep, play and eat!
It would be really cool to be groomed and pampered all the time too :D  Please click on the video to watch Nuggie enjoying his grooming session!  It's the cutest!  I had to add audio to the clip to mask my baby talk. LOL.  Btw, person doing the brushing is my brother and not me :D
cleaning
But then again I do think of other cat duties such as washing yourself in weird areas using your tongue...
hmm, weird taste!
Hmm!  Weird taste! Haha.

Philippine Pavilion at the World Expo

We got up early on our second day in Shanghai because we were heading out to the World Expo site.  This year's expo is said to be the biggest in history with 242 countries participating!  Every country would have a pavilion to showcase their culture and history.
going inside
As we were going inside we saw a lot of people rushing to get in.  I even thought to myself: "Hmm, this isn't so bad!"  because I was expecting to see a LOT more people.
expo
So we took time out to take photos of the entrance... or what we thought was the entrance!

Shanghai Day 1 in Pictures

breakfast of champions
Our day started with a very healthy mix of fried rice, fried noodles, fried prawn crackers and boiled egg!  Yummy oil!  These were the regular items at the Holiday Inn breakfast buffet which we ate for 6 days :D

Ni Hao!

Ni Hao!
Erman and I are going to Shanghai, China in a couple of days to visit the World Expo.  I'm really looking forward to this trip especially after all the stress that came with getting our visa and NBI travel clearance. Haha.  I think I have everything prepared except for the chairs.  Yup, chairs!  My sister recommended that we bring our own lightweight folding chairs because the expo lines are unbelievably long.  I wonder if it's okay to just sit on newspapers? :D

Bacolod at night

Just sharing some of my photos taken during the 30th Masskara Festival in Bacolod last year. We can't make it back for this year's festivities but hopefully we can go to the next one :)
Party in full swing

Slow melting in progress

The past few months have sure been busy!  Aside from the never ending work pile, I am also busy planning my wedding.  Yes, 7 months to go and I have about 5% nothing planned!  How fun is that?  Folks have been telling me to hire a coordinator, but I'm still thinking that I can handle everything by myself.  I'm supposed to be really stressed right now but I'm feeling strangely calm.  I am starting to think that I enjoy feeling swamped!  Yes, I'm hardcore like that :)  I'm also trying (emphasis on the word trying) to keep fit with a balanced diet and regular exercise but of course it can't be all serious, right?  On my cheat days I reward myself with yummy treats such as ice cream!
 nugget_haagen dazs
For me, Häagen-Dazs is the most decadent treat.  I'm actually having a hard time describing how good it is :)  So sinful but definitely worth every bite!  Even my cat agrees with me!

Funky Fruit Friday

spikes
I have this weird habit of letting Nugget smell fruits and vegetables. I really don't know when it started and why I do it. Haha! Anyway, today is funky fruit Friday since we have Durian in the house.
sniff
I placed the fruit in front of Nugget and let him smell it.
hmm
No major reaction. He just sniffed, licked the stem for a few seconds and then he was done.
interesting
Okay, I'm finished! Please remove the Durian now.

What a strange fruit!  Even stranger that custom challenge coins :D

Bacolod 2009

Erman and I took our first trip to Bacolod last year to witness the famous Masskara festival. The Masskara festival is a 3 week long celebration featuring colorful costumes, parades and street dancing. More on the history of the festival here.

Curry Day

Do you like curry?
chicken katsu curry meal
When I lived in Singapore, I considered Japanese curry as my comfort food.  I really don't know why but i was something I craved for whenever I was homesick or super stressed.  I kept a box of S&B curry in the cupboard along with my Century Tuna and Lucky Me stash :)
S&B curry mix and panko
Now that I'm back home I realized that I haven't had Japanese curry in a long time so I got a box of S&B in the grocery and started cooking :)
Sunday is curry day
We had chicken katsu (deep fried chicken fillet coated with panko and egg) and assorted veggies cooked in curry sauce.  It was a yummy and simple meal... not to mention cheap too!  I think I spent a total of p500 ($11.43) for this dish that served 6 people :)
yummy
Yummy!

Mancat Monday

Technically It's already a Tuesday over here but Nugget told me that he wanted to join "Mancat Monday" :D  So here's Nugget is his most "Mancat-ish" pose! haha.

Inside Paseo de Escolta

The Paseo de Escolta in Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar was patterned after Manila's commercial district in the early 1900s. This colorful building has 17 fully functioning hotel rooms.
Paseo de Escolta
Inside the room is a mix of new and old - antique style furniture, capiz windows along with modern facilities like an electric kettle for coffee, aircon (of course) and a huge TV (yay!)

The bed is very comfortable and looks especially cozy with the curtains

Nothing really exciting about the bathroom. Free toiletries include small packets of shampoo, cotton buds, a toothbrush and a tiny bar of soap.

We can't wait to go back here :)

Nugget, how big are you?

Nugget does not seem that big to me... I mean, I do see him everyday so I guess I've gotten used to his size. Anyway, I've compiled a few photos of Nuggie beside random items for comparison :)
couch cat
Nugget is 23 pounds. He occupies a lot of space on his fave couch.
rug
He can almost cover 1 oval rug with his body
1 liter coke
A 1 liter bottle of Coke looks small beside him!
5 gallon bottle
Not as heavy but longer than the 5 gallon water bottle
whoops!
whoops! almost got rolled on :D
