Bacolod 2009

Erman and I took our first trip to Bacolod last year to witness the famous Masskara festival. The Masskara festival is a 3 week long celebration featuring colorful costumes, parades and street dancing. More on the history of the festival here.

As soon as our plane landed at the Bacolod-Silay airport I could only think of one thing and that was Chicken Inasal! Since it was still too early to check in the hotel, we headed to the nearest mall to eat :)

After a very yummy lunch, we headed to Bob's for dessert! Bob's Restaurant was highly recommended by our friends from Bacolod. The cakes definitely did not disappoint :)

We also saw this cute kitty waiting under our table. Too bad I didn't have anything to feed her aside from cake.

Our trip was actually a last minute thing so I had a hard time booking a hotel. Luckily, my online friend was able to secure a room for us at Westown Hotel in Lacson Street. We were very pleased when we found out that the hotel is very accessible to everything - the mall, the festivities and public transportation. The rooms are brand new and rates are very reasonable too!

Welcome to Bacolod!
Maps, tablets and SM discount card were given to us at the airport. Yay!

Posts on the festival to follow :)
