French Macarons

Do you like French Macarons?

I found out about The Cookie Jar while I was researching on dessert suppliers for our wedding.  I got in touch with them and ordered 8 pcs to sample.

I got a pleasant surprise when I picked up my order.   Rae (the person behind The Cookie Jar) texted me that it was on the house.  Thank you so much, Rae :)  We loved all the flavors!  I wish I took more photos but they were gone in minutes :D

Kumo on the other hand was more interested in the mini pineapple...

I found him asleep beside it too.  This cat is crazy! Hehe.

Food Tasting

I can't believe that we only have 3 months to go before our wedding!  There are still a lot of things to settle but thankfully we can cross out the most important item on the the list - Food!  Yay!

The table is ready :)

We had pumpkin soup with toasted bread to start.

We were served a simple salad after.  We all enjoyed this because the toppings were amazing.  Aside from the expected stuff like corn and Parmesan cheese, they included unusual picks like chicco and langka too!

I've never had salad with chico and langka before but I liked it :)  I should make this at home sometime.

We also had Cod in lemon garlic sauce, 3 other meat dishes

and the best pasta ever!  We were told that this tinapa (smoked fish) sauce is their best seller.  To be honest, we picked this from the list out of curiosity but I'm so glad we did because it's so good!  Hopefully the guests will think so too :)

Wedding planning is serious business

Almost 8 months left to plan our wedding and so far we have nothing!  Well, that's not entirely true because we've already reserved the venue.  Next on the list would be the judge, photographer, food and yes the dress.  I just want a really small and intimate wedding so I'm sure the 8 months is more than enough time to plan.

The account executive gave us a very detailed floor plan when we went to Hacienda Isabella's office to reserve.  She also discussed some things that I did not know we needed (generator, extra lights, sounds, etc.) which got me thinking that wedding planning IS serious business. Haha!

Thankfully, Nugget approves! Me-ow!

Here we go!

I had my first test makeup (for my wedding) today.  To be honest, I am not really fond of make up.  I am really more of a natural look kind of girl.  But of course I am admitting that I need it on the big day... Unless I want to end up looking like a haggard banshee/owl that is.
 Tools of the trade
So much make up!  Teresa, the make up artist (who is also the woman behind Ellana Mineral Makeup) did a great job.  I ended up looking natural and not "cakey" at all.  No before and after photos though.  I have no plans of scaring you guys with images of my Fez. :D

We attended my high school friend's wedding in Magallanes Church right after.  Haha, I made sure that the make up test didn't go to waste by scheduling it on the same day as the event :)
It was such a lovely wedding!  Very simple, elegant and heartfelt.
The celebration continued at the Peninsula where we had a very yummy 5 course dinner!
and the best dessert ever!  Congratulations Miko and Mishi!  I wish you the best :)
